How is stress affecting your business?
First of all, let’s look at what we’re dealing with here. The majority of CEOs and business owners I speak with all have the same common complaints, along the lines of:
- Too much to do and no time to do it.
- I feel so overwhelmed that I end up doing nothing.
- The task list is never ending.
- I’m so confused, I can’t make any decisions.
Our productivity takes the hit. As Karen Higginbottom writes in ‘Workplace Stress Leads To Less Productive Employees’,
“Employees suffering from high stress levels have lower engagement, are less productive and have higher absenteeism levels than those not working under excessive pressure”
Missed deadlines, wrong decisions, lead to ruined business relationships and reputation. All of which can plummet your profits.
Stress is not necessary!
“Stress is just a part of running a business, you just have to suck it up and deal with it!” How many times have you heard such a phrase? Maybe you’ve even said it yourself!
Deal with it, yes… accept it? No!
Stress culture within a business has become the norm. Which is weird because it serves no purpose, seriously damages our health, our business, and our professional and personal relationships. It is completely counter-productive!
So, get rid of it!
How? Intuition, of course!
How can using my intuition help to reduce stress?
Transformational speaker and life coach, Cheryl Brewster in her article “Business Stress – 3 Ways Intuition Can Help”, says,
“by allowing this inner harmony to emerge through us, we become aware of possibilities we didn’t see before… it builds supreme self trust and improves the thinking process.”
Our intuition is a self-preservation tool, which knows more than our rational mind. Our rational mind is prone to obsessing over problems and gets stuck in that vicious circle. By learning to give the reins over to your inner guide, you will remove obstacles from business processes, allowing you to focus better and take action.
How do I engage my intuition in my business life?
There are loads of great intuition tools that you can use to help access and boost your intuition powers. Let’s take a look at a few that will specifically tackle those stress points.
1. Calm your mind
Mindfulness activities like yoga and meditation are a great way to relax and ground yourself. Grounding helps to re-orientate us, bring us fully into the present moment – which can be a great way to reduce the stress we may feel about the future.
But, you can take this even further with one of my favourite intuition techniques called TLC, or To the Light, Connect. A very simple, but highly effective tool will make it easier for you to focus, clear the way for connecting to your intuition and clear your mind from the distractions, chaos and confusion.
Think more clearly, and with a quiet, calm, centered mind you can begin to can direct this energy and power towards your intuition.
2. Simplify the decision-making process
Decision making is a part of everyday business life. It can be nerve-wracking and time-consuming, especially when we feel overwhelmed. Even the smallest decision can seem painful. But there are great intuitive tools to making this process super simple, painless and stress-free!
What Would It Take?
What Would It Take? (WWIT) is one of the most powerful tools I’ve come across and I use it in every part of my business.
Here are a few examples:
- What would it take to win this contract?
- What would it take to hire the ideal candidate?
- What would it take to get this task done by the end of the day?
The very format of the question helps us cut to the chase, by focusing on solutions rather than the problem.
Delete business worries with WWIT
Much of our business stress is worry-based. Worrying is exhausting, it’s a huge drain on our energy and creativity, and it is a passive and destructive thought process.
We are worrying about things we have no control over, or things we think we have no control over. What do I mean by that?
Well, let’s look at an example, say you’re worried about the new hire, and if they will work out. On the surface, this seems like something you have no real control over. But, bring WWIT and see what happens:
- WWIT to make the new hire feel at home?
- WWIT to help the new hire get to grips with the job?
- WWIT to make sure the new hire enjoys the work?
Using this intuitional tool you instantly and actively take control. You can immediately delete worry from your business and conserve that energy and better direct it.

Gain control and focus with your intuition
Sometimes we don’t feel like we’re good enough, or capable of doing certain tasks. Then comes the guilt for not dealing with the problems and as the tasks mount we feel stressed.
When you notice this vicious circle entering your business, or when you just feel lower emotions on the Hawkins scale, you can use your intuition to mentally and spiritually go back in time, find the root cause of these emotions and heal it!
‘Youngest Age Recycling’ is a powerful business intuition tool helps to permanently clear the root causes of the problem.
First, consider the emotions and body sensations you feel when avoiding such tasks. Now, think of the age you were when you first felt that same way. Where were you, who were you with?
Now TLC as you are now and TLC you younger self, sending light and love from above and below to heal your younger self and so remove the negativity in your current self. Now, when you experience the same problem you will no longer be blocked by the negative emotions, but are left free to act and deal with it without fear or self-doubt.
Intuition gives you confidence in your choices
Being able to trust my intuition in business gives me an amazing sense of security that I find really empowering! This trust can be hard to gain when you first start using your intuition, but there are ways that you can gain confidence in your intuition and your intuitive choices.
Keep an Intuition journal
“Intuition isn't guessing. It's sophisticated pattern matching, honed over time. Don't dismiss intuition merely because it's difficult to understand. You can get better at it by practicing.” (Seth Godin, author and entrepreneur)
Every time you make a decision using your intuition, make a note of it in a journal. Write down the decision process, how your intuition spoke to you, the actions you took and what happened as a result.
Later, you can review and see what works best for you. It gives you clear evidence that your intuition is at work and can guide your business with ease. The more evidence, the more confidence you’ll have in your intuition and your intuitive choices.
