Welcome back to the show. I'm here with Diana and it grew up, made me better pronounce it correctly, because I think I just screwed it up for about any girl bear with me. And we're gonna be talking about an experience she had had no clients and help sales pipeline. And what she did about that. And it wasn't panic, it was reactive. So we talked about how she called her abundance, and went beyond scarcity in her sale. Welcome, Diana,
Diana Grobelny 0:32
Thank you so much for having me.
Michaela Light 0:35
You're welcome. So, if you don't know her, she is an operation of virtual operations. coherent. I think that's how you say online business manager. She also is an expert at clickup. In case any of you listening clickup complications, and she worked for over a decade at Levi will make those being European headquarters. And look corporate knowledge, too. And she loves helping out remote teams get more organized. optimize their processes, collaborate better. performance. So do we have great performance? So Diana is originally from Germany. She's lived in a lot of country. And she's currently living in Bali. Beautiful. Yeah. So we we were chatting about what happened to you, I think it was this summer, right? This year. And you said that you you didn't have any, you know, clients lined up, but I think three months, which could be quite exciting. For some people listening. They're like, well, I don't have any clients. What were your initial reactions when you notice? What's thinkable?
Diana Grobelny 1:59
I mean, first of all, it was kind of intentional to take a break. So it was to plan for me to take a summer break. I have
Michaela Light 2:06
Tension before that, at the beginning of the year or something. It wasn't like, yeah,
Diana Grobelny 2:10
So you know, so beginning of the year, I had a lot of clients and had a lot of work. And I've never had a break in my life. So I noticed that a lot of my projects were ending around April, May, this year, and also one of my long term plans, because I have long term plans. I have shorter projects. But yeah, so I was like, okay, April, May, most of the My Projects are finishing. So should I take a break? Because I had just arrived in Bali. There's a very different energy here. There's a lot of topics I'm interested in and also want to learn about. And I thought, you know, why not take maybe a few months off? So, of course, there's always the thought. But what if someone asked me, will I still say no? Or will I say yes, but actually, I did say no to people, because I was like, No, I really want to take this break, and something will come once I'm ready. The plan was to go back to work in September. But what made me a bit nervous was because usually, my clients contact me like I don't really have any marketing strategy. It's always people contacting me. And what I noticed this summer was, it wasn't happening, no one was contacting me. And I was like, that's weird. Even though I wasn't looking for clients, even though I didn't want clients, I still noticed it. And also, I saw that I was talking to my friends who are also, you know, consultants and freelancers. And they experienced they were struggling with finding clients this summer. So I was like, maybe something is happening. Maybe it's maybe it's just summer, maybe it's something else, right. But I still trusted that, you know, once I'm ready, something will come. Yeah, so I was not really nervous. In the beginning, I became a little bit more nervous towards the end of it. But yeah, it all turned out well. Because as soon as I was ready again in September, a wonderful new client showed up. And yeah.
Michaela Light 4:05
So you know, you've been in business for several years yourself and you work in corporate areas. alone time. How would your younger self would deal with this kind of situation? Like no clients coming in? You sound very calm about Yes.
